Two women at the same time?

Somewhere in the mythic world of dating there is a lesbian who can handle multiple women simultaneously. While some of us might scoff at her inability to commit, many of us are fascinated by, and jealous of this creature. Is she an urban legend or could she be you?

Dating two women at the same time is not territory to be tread onto lightly. There are a few things to consider before you head down this path.

First, you need to be honest with yourself about why you're dating more than one gal at a time. If you've hit the suitable date lottery, it might be appropriate for you to cash in those winnings before investing in one exclusive account. In other words, if there are a few ladies eager to go out with you, you may want to explore the possibilities of romance before settling down with one.

Secondly, you should think twice (or thrice, if necessary) before dating multiple women if you:

Avoid conflict at all times
In many dating scenarios, one person gets more involved than the other. Maybe you'll find yourself drawn to Anna, but can't break it off with Karen. At some point, Karen's going to think you're still interested and Anna's going to get tired of waiting for you to commit. You could also find you don't really jibe with either women but can't move on because you're afraid they'll get mad at you. My friend, just date one woman at a time. Really.

Maybe you're all clear and have your sights set on a couple of great gals. Here are a couple of pointers to keep you out of trouble (at least at first).


Be up front with both women about the fact that you're dating more than one person. There is nothing worse than being accused of cheating or two-timing when that was never your intention. You'll end up without anyone to date in that case.


Don't date two women who are friends with each other. Just don't do it. You don't want them to talk about you to each other nor do you want to bring a competitive element to their friendship.


Finally, don't ever take each woman on the exact same date. That's just tacky.
These are just some basic ideas. There's nothing wrong with dating more than one person at a time. You may find yourself having to battle some judgmental friends, but if you approach it with an honest and clear idea of what it involves, you should be fine. We should all be so lucky.
